Clash in the Corn Off-Season Competition Oct 17/18!

Good evening,

It's almost time for our Fall Off-Season Competition: Clash in the Corn! Below is the key competition information. If your student hasn't signed up, please reach out no later than noon tomorrow (October 10th).

Event Cost

The cost per student is$60, which covers:

• Dinner Friday night

• Lunch Saturday

• Hotel stay

Payment can be made via PayPal or by check made out to Iowa City Robotics. Students attending Saturday only with their parents just need to pay $6 for the team lunch if they’d like to join for pizza. Concessions will also be available for purchase throughout the event.

Event Timeline

The competition runs Friday afternoon through Saturday at 3:30 PM (returning to the lab around 5:30 PM).Main Travel Group: Leaves Friday at 2 PM with Mike and Michael to set up the pit and prep robots for practice matches starting at 4:30 PM.ICCSD students will be called out of school after 5th period.Late Travel Group: Leaves Friday at 7:45 PM with Trey and Madison.If your student has a preference for which group they travel with, please reach out ASAP.

What to Pack

• Team shirt for the competition (or a school/green/yellow shirt if unavailable)

  • Older shirts available for $10

  • Polos available for $20 (limited sizes)

  • New Cotton Gallery merch will not be ready in time for this event

• Overnight bag (medications, deodorant, phone charger, etc.)

• Optional: board games or small activities for downtime

• Swimsuit if planning to use the hotel pool

Please pack lightly—it’s only one night and vehicle space is limited.
