FRC End-of-Season Update & Upcoming Events

We have officially wrapped up the FRC competition season! It has been an incredible year, and we greatly appreciate everyone's support throughout the season. As we transition into the off-season, I want to take a moment to highlight some upcoming events.

FIRST Championship Recap

The team had an amazing experience at the Championship! To help us plan the future, please fill out the feedback form linked below. We would love to hear from both students and parents about what went well and areas for improvement. For parents who didn't attend the competition, we ask that you still complete the initial portion of the survey.

Lab Meetings for the Remainder of the School Year

As we enter the off-season, we will reduce our lab meetings to Thursdays from 6–8 PM. These meetings will focus on preparing for outreach events, working on off-season skill projects, and packing up the lab. We have scheduled these meetings through the end of June. Our goal is to avoid burnout while still providing opportunities for those who wish to continue working through the off-season.

Iowa Heartlanders Game

The Iowa Heartlanders hockey team recently made the playoffs and has invited the Children of the Corn to do a demonstration and Zamboni ride! Students who wish to participate in the demo will receive tickets, and families can purchase tickets via the link below. $5 from each ticket purchased will come back to the team. If you haven’t signed up to demo yet but plan to attend, please contact us ASAP so we can reserve your tickets.

It’s Family Movie Night!

Join us for a fun evening as we celebrate the season with a showing of Tron: Legacy at the Bijou Theatre in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

⏰ Time: 4:00 PM

📍 Location: Bijou Theatre, Mt. Vernon, Iowa

Admission is free, and the theatre seats 70 guests. Concessions will be available for purchase. (This event was originally planned for February and has been rescheduled.)
