FRC June Events

Good afternoon,

Happy end of school! The off-season has officially started, and the team has been busy with projects, outreach events, and preparing to move the lab. Below are some important upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.

Lab Move-Out Day & End of Season Picnic

We need to vacate the Kirkwood Regional Center in Coralville by the end of June. While we are still finalizing a new location, June 21st is our official lab move-out day. This will be an all-hands-on-deck effort, and we’re seeking help from as many students and parents as possible.

Once we're done moving, join us to celebrate the close of our 2025 Reefscape season at Penn Meadows Park! This is a potluck for team members and families. We'll hand out Corny Awards and recognize our graduating seniors. (Rain location: KRC)

Iowa City Block Party (Regional Fundraiser)

We’ll be staffing the registration/info table at the Iowa City Block Party. This event raises funds for our 2026 regional travel. We still need 7 volunteers—students and parents welcome! Each volunteer will receive $45 toward future regional costs. Currently Calder, Tada, and myself are signed up.

Junior Bot Summer Camps

Camps run from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM each day. Student volunteer training will be held ahead of time:

Volunteer Training: June 9, 6:00–8:00 PM, Kirkwood Regional Center

Camp Dates:

• June 23–26

• August 11–14

Rock River Robotics Offseason Event

This one-day competition simulates a mini regional. It's a great chance to try new roles, practice driving, and build skills in a low-stakes environment. No registration cost—just bring money for lunch or snacks.

Save the Date: CornK Fun Run & Cornhole Tournament

Join us for a fun morning of running, games, and fundraising! The CornK Fun Run is a relaxed, untimed run/walk open to all ages. The Cornhole Tournament will run alongside the event, with prizes for the winning team. This is a great way to wrap up the summer, support the team, and invite friends and family to join in the fun.
