Volunteer with Us

It takes a whole community to build a robotics team.
Iowa City Robotics is powered by students, mentors, parents, alumni, and community volunteers who share a passion for helping students learn, build, and compete. Whether you have years of robotics experience or have never touched a robot, there is a place for you here.
Ways to Volunteer
There are many ways to get involved throughout the year:
-
Coach or Mentor: Work directly with students on robotics, programming, engineering, business, design, or other areas
-
Event Volunteer: Help run competitions, scrimmages, workshops, and community events
-
Team Support: Help with transportation, meals, organization, fundraising, communications, or other behind-the-scenes tasks
-
STEM Outreach: Help students share robotics with the community through demonstrations, camps, and outreach events
-
Professional Skills: Share your experience in areas such as engineering, software, marketing, finance, project management, or communications
-
Occasional Volunteers: Can't commit to a full season? We also have opportunities to help with individual events and projects
No Robotics Experience Required
You don't need to be an engineer to make a difference. Our teams need people with all kinds of skills and backgrounds, and we provide support to help you get started.
What matters most is a willingness to learn, work with students, and help create a positive team environment.
